The holy door at Saint Paul's Outside
the Walls was opened on Sunday by the Rome basilica's
archpriest, Cardinal James Michael Harvey.
It is the fifth and final holy door to be opened in the Italian
capital for the Catholic Church's Jubilee 2025.
Pope Francis kicked off the Holy Year by opening the Holy Door
at Saint Peter's on Christmas Eve and he also opened one at
Rome's Rebibbia prison on December 26.
Holy doors have also been opened at Rome's two other major
basilicas, Saint John Lateran (on December 19) and Saint Mary
Major (on New Year's Day).
By walking through a holy door over the next 12 months,
Catholics will be able to obtain a 'plenary indulgence' for
their sins.
The Jubilee, which features a rich programme of shows,
conferences, concerts and religious events, is expected to bring
over 30 million pilgrims to Rome.
