A high school teacher was taken to
the ER after a student attacked her in the classical institute
at Seregno near Monza last Wednesday and has not been back
working since then, school sources said Tuesday amid a wave of
student violence against staff in Italy.
The woman was allegedly punched and slapped in the face by a
male student in his late teens, the school said.
The attack allegedly took place while they were along in the
classroom. Her other students then came in to find her with
blood running down her face, and called the other teachers, one
of whom took her to the ER.
Students have plastered the school with well wishes including
"We're with you", "school isn't the same without you", "Let's
hope to see you again" and "I hope one day you will rediscover
your love for your passion: teaching."
The teenage alleged assailant has been withdrawn from school by
his family.
