New generations should draw
nourishment from history, President Sergio Mattarella told a
delegation from natural heritage trust FAI Monday.
"Culture has immense strength. It leads us on the path of
knowledge, comparison, dialogue, growth. Therefore of respect
for the identities of each, of the construction of shared and
common identities," Mattarella told the delegation.
"It is what is called civilization that generates social
capital, encounter, peace, development: it unites our European
identity. We need generations that know how to find nourishment
in the history from which they originate and, from it, know how
to raise the horizon of our gaze".
