A 17-year-old boy got 18 years and
eight months in jail Tuesday for killing a 19-year-old man in a
row over dirtied shoes near Naples on the night of last November
1-2.
The victim was Santo Romano, a goalkeeper for Micri
di Volla soccer team in the semi-professional Eccellenza
championship, the fifth tier of Italian football.
He died of his injuries in hospital after being shot in the
chest during the row over sneakers that had been stained between
two groups of young people.
The killer, who has not been named because of his age, had
reportedly only recently been released
from a juvenile detention centre.
