- ROME, JUN 14 - Stellantis will leave the European
Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) by the end of the
year and will create, as of 2023, an open annual forum called
Freedom of Mobility Forum, CEO Carlos Tavares has said.
The objective is to unite a heterogeneous group of experts
who are able to solve issues regarding a "clean, safe and
convenient mobility" for a society dealing with "the
implications of global warming", the CEO explained on Monday.
"The environmental challenges awaiting us require a
360-degree approach that is efficient, global and inclusive,
involving all those who wish to contribute to the construction
of a sustainable mobility", he noted.
"We mean to create a public forum in which participants can
meet to deal with key issues surrounding the debate on a
decarbonized mobility and identify the next steps to take
together.
"Access to a clean, safe and convenient mobility is at stake
for citizens around the world", added Tavares.
The Freedom of Mobility Forum will be planned and coordinated
by an advisory committee of experts representing various
stakeholders of the sector, including mobility and technology
providers, professors, policy makers and scientists, the same
source said.
