The Italian Ambassador in Berlin, Fabrizio Bucci, inaugurated the first stage of the Milan Cortina 2026 International Roadshow, which took place in Munich in the presence of several personalities from German and Italian institutions. This was announced by the Italian Embassy in a statement.
"The XXV Olympic Winter Games in Milan and Cortina represent not only an important driver of growth and innovation for our country, with significant repercussions on the territory in terms of tourism, infrastructure and production, but also a wonderful opportunity to further strengthen our deep and varied ties with Germany in the field of sport," said Bucci, who added: "Italian mountain resorts are among the most appreciated by our German friends, who choose our country as a destination for their trips every year. And what better place to inaugurate this Roadshow than Munich, a city synonymous with innovation, entrepreneurship and cutting-edge technology, but also with affection for Italy'.
On 24 June 2019, the International Olympic Committee awarded Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo the joint organisation of the XXV Olympic Winter Games 2026. The Winter Olympics will thus be held in Italy for the third time after Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956 and Turin 2006.
During his visit to the city of Munich, Bucci met with numerous members of the Italian business and cultural worlds: representatives of industry and commerce, as well as fashion, publishing, and institutions. Particularly noteworthy were the moments of dialogue and meeting with the elected representatives of the Italian community in Bavaria, which consists of some 140,000 compatriots, 'perfectly integrated in the social and economic fabric of the area and with important success stories behind them,' as Bucci emphasised. A stop dedicated to the visual arts was not missing: the ambassador visited the museum of modern and contemporary art Haus der Kunst, accompanied by its artistic director, the Italian Andrea Lissoni.
