Juventus coach Thiago Motta is not
in danger of getting the sack after the Turin giants were turfed
out of the Italian Cup at the quarter-final stage at home by
Empoli on Wednesday, Director of Sport Cristiano Giuntoli said
on Thursday.
"We are convinced that the (Motta) project is important. The
coach is creating value by getting many young players to play,"
Giuntoli told Sky television.
"Thiago Motta is not in doubt.
"It was an inexplicable match (against Empoli).
"We were on the back of four wins.
"We agree with what the coach said. It was an unacceptable
performance".
Juventus also exited the Champions League in the playoffs for a
slot in the last 16 and they are currently fourth in Serie A
with 49 points, eight behind leaders Inter.
