King Charles and Queen Camilla nodded
emphatically when a Mediaset journalist asked them "are you
happy to be here" at the Victor Emmanuel (Altar of the Homeland)
Monument in Rome on the second day of their four-day state visit
to Italy Tuesday.
The British royals were met at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and, after the British and
Italian national anthems were played, Charles laid a wreath to
the Sardinia Grenadiers regiment.
Accompanies by Crosetto, Charles inspected 200 Italian soldiers
from the army, navy, air force, Carabinieri and Guardia di
Finanza tax corps.
After the king laid the wreath, there followed a minute's
silence.
