The bodies of two children were
recovered on Sunday after the shipwreck of a migrant boat in the
southern Mediterranean.
The bodies were picked up by an NGO-run search-and-rescue
vessel, the Sea Punk, which rescued 15 people.
Survivors said three people are missing.
The survivors and the bodies were transferred to an Italian
Coast Guard patrol boat to be taken to the Italian island of
Lampedusa along with another 38 people rescued by three fishing
boats.
The rescue was carried out in Malta's SAR area some 58 nautical
miles from Lampedusa, Italy's southern-most tip.
Three of the survivors are in a critical condition.
It was initially reported that three bodies had been recovered
after the shipwreck.
