An initiative dedicated to the topic of Impact Investing and the role of civil society intermediaries in promoting sustainable economic development through rule of law and sport was held at the Italian Ambassador's Residence in Bucharest. The event, organised by the Embassy together with the Study and Policy Centre 'Territoria House' and the investment company 'For Impact Capital', took place in implementation of the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In the words of the Italian Ambassador in Bucharest, Alfredo Durante Mangoni, "there is a need for generative Esg and, above all, impact finance, which links the risk and return of every investment to the resolution of the problems of our time". "Impact finance," added the Ambassador, "structurally links returns to intentional, additional and measurable objectives in social and environmental terms. We have structured the event around two panels, dedicated respectively to sport and rule of law, to reflect on the use of these levers by public institutions and above all by the intermediate bodies of civil society - NGOs, academia, trade associations, liberal professions, banks - fundamental players in a mature democracy and drivers of social and economic innovation". 'The hope is that the continuation of this comparison between our countries will facilitate transformations in the two economies and societies in the direction of ever greater inclusiveness, resilience and sustainability,' Ambassador Durante Mangoni concluded.
