Defence spending will be one of the
topics of discussion between United States President Donald
Trump and Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni at the White House
Thursday, a senior US official said during a call on the visit.
He said everything Meloni can do to reach 2% of defence spending
by Italy and other NATO countries, according to the official, is
"very necessary".
