According to a European
diplomatic source, Donald Trump is willing to reduce the number
of US troops in Europe by about 20%, or about 20,000 men, as
part of a review of his commitment to protecting Europe.
"Furthermore, for those who remain, he would like financial
contributions from European countries because these soldiers are
a deterrent, and the costs cannot be borne solely by American
taxpayers," the source added. Trump would have "consistently"
expressed his desire to the various European leaders he has met
with thus far.
