Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on
Tuesday told the Senate there is no simple or immediate solution
to the conflict in Ukraine, discussing the extension until
December 31 2025 of military aid for the country.
He also said it was necessary to continue to provide support to
Ukraine in order to create the necessary conditions for a
ceasefire.
"No simple or immediate solution has emerged.
"There has been a significant increase in Russian attacks that
indiscriminately hit military and civilian targets in Ukraine",
said Crosetto.
"So far, the position has always been clear, we think about
continuing to provide support to Ukraine in order to finally
create the conditions for a ceasefire and to open a necessary
diplomatic discussion to reach a long-lasting peace", noted the
defence minister.
