Italian Holocaust survivor and Life
Senator Liliana Segre is exhausted after coming under a new wave
of anti-Semitic abuse following the release of a documentary
about her life, Roberto Jarach, the President of Milan's Shoah
Memorial, told ANSA on Thursday before Holocaust Remembrance Day
next week.
"We are experiencing Holocaust Remembrance Day in a very
negative climate, after the release of the film 'Liliana',
because of this florilegium of attacks on Senator Segre on
social networks that are undeserved and out of place," Jarach
told ANSA via telephone.
He said Segre, 94, decided not to attend the opening of an
exhibition at the Memorial on Wednesday because of the abuse.
"We speak regularly and she often tells me 'I'm tired' of the
insults," Jarach said.
