Giacomo Tortu, brother of Filippo, a
sprinter and Olympic gold winner at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in
the 4x100 relay, has been placed under investigation as part of
a probe in Milan into a suspected computer snooping gang
allegedly led by former top police officer Carmine Gallo and
former Milan Fair Foundation president Enrico Pazzali that got
confidential information mostly on business, as well as
political, sport and showbusiness figures, investigative sources
said Friday.
Giacomo Tortu is being probed for allegedly participating in the
illegal wiretaps against Tokyo 2020 Olympic 100m sprint champ
Marcell Jacobs and his staff which emerged in the investigation
by the Milan DDA anti-mafia directorate into the alleged group
of cyber-spies who are suspected of stealing information from
national strategic databases, the sources said.
According to news reports, Gallo told investigators that Giacomo
Tortu requested information on Jacobs and his staff.
The dossier against the double Olympic gold medallist , his
manager and his coach, was allegedly commissioned by Gallo, from
two of the hackers with whom he collaborated.
El Paso-born Jacobs, 30, won the individual 100 metres in Tokyo
in 9.80 secs, the first Italian to win the 100m, along with the
4x100 relay.
