The Italian Ambassador to South Korea, Emilia Gatto, met with the Korean Deputy Minister of the Interior and Security, Yi Han-Kyung, who is in charge of the National Civil Protection Department.
The topics under discussion included bilateral cooperation on civil protection and disaster risk reduction, cooperation on railway and infrastructure safety, and the strengthening of territorial diplomacy, with particular reference to the creation of a dense network of twinning agreements between Italian and Korean territorial authorities.
The meeting concluded with the hope of activating to explore bilateral cooperation hypotheses, also in consideration of the geomorphologic similarities and common challenges.
